Here I go...

One Adventure After Another!

About This Blog

After being very ill for years and not knowing why, I was finally diagnosed with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities. My specialist offered me two choices; chemical chelation or long distance walking. I chose to walk and found the Camino Santiago, a very well-supported pilgrimage across Spain. I walked the entire route the first year and came home feeling great for the first time in many many years. In order to afford going back each year, I began taking groups of 8 to 15 pilgrims. You can see my webpage for Anniewalkers at www.anniewalkers.com

Over the years, I have walked various Camino routes.

I began this blog in 2009, right before attempting to walk the Via de la Plata from Seville, Spain up to Santiago, a distance of 1000 kilometers.

On that trek, I made a decision to leave my 14 year long relationship and set out on my own, focusing on my fiber art and pet portraits. There were several other major life changes during the next few years.

It was not as unsettling as one would expect, and not completely unexpected. Instead of going into a panic, I decided it was a good time to practice what I learned walking the Camino -- to simplify my life -- and that project became the next section of this blog.

I continue to live frugally. Last year my entire income was under $12,500.

Now, having gotten rid of nearly all my possessions, this blog turns to rediscovery of lost wisdom, arts, and tips for simplifying everyday life, as well as a journal of my various Camino walks.

I hope you will continue to follow and find it of interest.
